Our tour guides are highly knowledgeable and have over 16 years of experience on the water. They will share their experience of kayaking while identifying wildlife, sharing history of Key West and Florida; giving you an experience you will never forget.
Mangrove Maze
We offer tours of the mazes of mangroves within the southwest quadrant of the island of Key West. These tours are best for smaller groups, as the mangrove tunnels can be narrow enough for just a kayak or two in certain areas. Our guides will allow you to explore the protected forests in a way no other vessel can. Here you will learn about the unique properties of mangrove trees, salt ponds, and the creatures that live beneath the surface of our beautiful waters. This tour takes approximately 2.5-3 hours and is perfect for all experience levels. We always offer a 5 minute kayaking tutorial at the beginning of each tour for our beginners.
Gulf of Mexico Sunsets
Take in the Southernmost Sunset from the unobstructed views of the water. Our tour guides will take photos of you and your loved ones kayaking among the vast Keys marine life. You will no longer have to imagine that picturesque backdrop! Bluemoon has the only location on the gulf side of the island, ideal for basking in the glorious sunsets of The Sunshine State. This tour is great for all skill levels and will have you back just in time for dinner and festivities on Conch Island. Blue Moon Kayak Key West has adopted Cow Key Channel and is always looking for additional help to clean up our local waters. Here is your chance to help make an impact on your vacation by looking closely in the water, in the mangroves, and on the beaches. Everyone can make a difference by spending a little time of their day picking up one - two - three or more pieces of plastic.
We will educate you on the different types of debris we find, and how long each takes to decompose in our natural environment, and what impacts they have to our local flora and fauna.
Blue Moon Kayak Key West is part of a non-profit Paddle with a Purpose. Portions of this tour proceeds will go directly back to Paddle with a Purpose to help fund larger scale water way clean ups.
Note: This is a tour and clean up excursion, but knowledge is the goal and purpose, not distance so it is great for all skill levels.
